Compact cars like the Suzuki Celerio make a lot of sense if you live somewhere in the urban jungle doing short miles and short sprints to the shops. The car comes with a small and frugal petrol engine that is not very expensive to buy and is also very economical to run making it a very sensible option. It still goes against Hyundai i10 and other cars proving that if a car is cheap it need not always be boring or ugly in its looks. Therefore, has the Celerio done enough to hold its own? Read on to find out!
The car comes with a 1.0L three cylinder engine with 70hp and 90Nm of torque which is not a lot but is very adequate for a car of this size even on the highway. There is a dualjet version that will switch itself off in traffic to be more economical, something that this segment does not offer. The suspension is firmer for a city car when compared to the i10 but the impressive handling will let you forgive its stiffness. The steering adjusts for rake and the driver’s seat will offer adequate adjustments.
The dashboard is logically laid out with buttons and the visibility in the car is very good with the small pillars making it easy to park. You get DAB radio and CD player in all models. In top models you get USB and other features. With adequate passenger seats and the boot will carry a few items as well making it a practical and economical city commuter that is affordable and easy to use.
