SUV and cross over cars are flooding the market with every manufacturer having their own specific niche and versions in them. That being said, there are still a lot of MPVs that are being sold to sensible buyers alongside that goes undetected and understated and hardly noticed. In that segment, is the newly updated and refreshed Open Zafira for 2018. Gone are the distinctive boomerang headlights and replaced for a wider grille and a more conservative head light design. The car looks good in the front and more appealing but the side and rear are typical MPV with not much styling cues and looks smart overall.
Inside is where you will find the simplicity that is just lovable. The dashboard is clean with a large infotainment system that has satellite navigation and the center console is partly piano black and brushed aluminum outlines on it making the car look good. The entry level model gets alloy wheels, front and rear parking sensors, touch screen with smart phone integration, and an Open concierge service. The passenger seats are comfortable and have knee room and head room.
There is a 1.4L petrol engine which is turbo charged to put 120hp and 155Nm of torque and is mated to a 6-speed gearbox. Despite the displacement, the car has adequate power to take you around comfortably in the city and on the highway without a fuss. The car is comfortable to drive and supply for long holidays and the steering is light to make long journey driving easier. Overall, the Open Zafira is a good MPV that serves well by being practical, spacious and reasonably quite making it a great practical people hauler.
