The Open Mokka came to being in 2012 alongside a lot of cross over cars like Juke et al. The car has been a great seller in many countries topping the list in the UK specifically. However, for 2018 Open has gone on ahead to give it a refresh and the new car gets a better styled front end and rear end and the interiors have been changed to be modern and fresh. It is also now called the Mokka X which is the new naming strategy from Open for SUVs in their lineup. The car has smart SUV styling with reasonably large grill, stylish headlamps, lower bumper fog lights with body cladding and two wheels and four wheel drive options.
Opel has worked hard to get rid of the buttons in their dash and offered a cleaner design and it looks up market like an infotainment system that is easy to use and has smart phone integration with a concierge service to help. There are arm rest and nice cubbies to store belongings. Rear passenger seats are comfortable with the head room and knee room. The boot is adequately sized and larger with seats down.
The car comes with a 1.4L turbo charged petrol engine that is good for 120hp and around 150Nm of torque. The steering is light and is easy to drive with comfortable suspension settings. There is a commanding view of the road making it easier to drive. The short wheelbase also aids in nippy city driving keeping it agile. With an impressive standard kit and practicality front, the Open Mokka X has upped its game to be more competitive and credible against the competition.
