The luxury hatchback segment is exploding with new models every year. There are so many players out there that the consumers have plenty of options to choose from. Entering that segment is the newly found luxury brand Infiniti with its new Infiniti Q30 which has been there for quite some time. For 2018, it gets some major updates to stay competitive in this segment. They have had some successful sales in 2015 for their brand and have ramped up their line up to keep their cars fresh and updated.
The Infiniti Q30 goes against some serious brands like Audi A3, Mercedes A Class, Volvo V40 and BMW 1 series. To keep up, you see bold lines, creases, swooping lines and bulges everywhere in the car for a striking design that is not conservative. It comes with two petrol engines along with a 2.0L turbo charged engine that puts out 208hp and has a 7-speed dual clutch automatic transmission. This is the same engine that is included in the Mercedes Benz GLA. This only comes with front wheel drive only and only in the European models you get the all wheel drive option.
The ride is comfortable and absorbs the bumps very well and the cabin fits that aspect well by being very quiet. The drive is competent with great handling characteristics while still being comfortable. It has eco modes and sports modes with the DSG and will be calm in the city and in the sport mode it will be eager to shift more often to keep the driving interesting and the manual mode is snappy and enjoyable.
