Alfa Romeo joined the crossover SUV bandwagon with Stelvio. Mechanically based on the Guilia platform in 2018. Like the Giulia sedan stablemate it seats five adults and is also available with all-wheel drive. Three variants are offered — base Stelvio, a luxury-oriented Ti and a high-performance Quadrifoglio.
Base and lifestyle trim models are powered by a turbocharged 280hp 2.0-litre engine, paired to an 8-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters, and a rear-wheel biased all-wheel-drive system. Features include 8.8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, 7-inch TFT instrument cluster display, ventilated electrically-adjustable front seats with memory function, power tailgate, automatic headlamps with auto high beam, auto rain sensing wipers, auto dual-zone air conditioner, keyless entry with push start button, and up to 3 selectable drive modes. Safety features include multiple airbags, traction and stability control system, forward collision warning, autonomous emergency braking, lane departure warning, and parking assist with rear camera.
For 2019, a rear wheel drive base variant will be available. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity is now standard on all trims. Heated rear seats are now optional on all grades and a new exterior colour, Imola Titanium Metallic has been added to the existing pallet.
The Alfa Romeo Stelvio QV is the performance version of their all-wheel-drive SUV offering. Under the hood, it gets the 503hp 2.9-litre turbocharged Ferrari designed V6 engine mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission.
