The All-New Puegeot 508 Arrives In The Middle East

The all-new Peugeot 508 has arrived in the Middle East. The French automakers introduced the car at its brand-new Peugeot Concept Store in Yas Mall in three trim levels.

Buyers can now choose between the entry-level ‘Active’, mid-trim ‘Allure’ or the top-of-the-range ‘GT Line’ model. Ditching its conventional boot-lid design, Peugeot has graced the new 508 with a new five-door fastback silhouette.

Speaking of the outside, the 508 stands shorter than its previous generation with a new radiator chrome-plated chequered grill that sits between the LED headlights. Notable additions in the new model include the vertical LED daytime running lights along with a lowered bonnet.

The Peugeot 508 ships with the third generation of Peugeot’s i-Cockpit that includes a compact steering wheel, 8- or 10-inch HD touchscreen and a heads-up display unit with a 12.3-inch digital screen. On the highest rung, buyers will get the central touchscreen with new -age features including radio, navigation, vehicle settings, telephone, phone mirroring, and, i-Cockpit Amplify.

On the GT-Line trim, the central touch screen comes with new-age features including radio, navigation, vehicle settings, telephone, phone mirroring, and, i-Cockpit Amplify. The i-Cockpit Amplify comes with a choice of two completely customisable ambiences; ‘BOOST’ and ‘RELAX’ which alter the senses of the car such as adjusting the ambient-lighting intensity and screen colour, changing musical-ambience settings and multi-point seat-massage programmes.

The car also ships with a host of driving aids including The new 508 comes with a host of new-gen driving aids including Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Positioning Assist, Active Safety Brake, Lane Keeping Assist, Driver Attention Alert, High Beam Assist, Speed Limit recognition, extended traffic sign recognition, Active Blind Spot Monitoring system and Visiopark 2 (360° vision).

Powering the car is the same 177-hp yielding 1.6-litre PureTech turbo engine that lunges the car from 0-100kph in 7.9 seconds.
