RTA Approved Driving Schools In Dubai: All You Need To Know

To ensure the best quality driving schools in Dubai, the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) of Dubai mandated the schools to be assessed and approved by them. In all, there are a total of five driving schools with several branches across Dubai where one can learn as well as apply for RTA licence. We discuss each one of them in detail here.

For starters, all driving schools across Dubai follow the same learning structure that includes three types of courses.
• Regular Course: Customers can opt for three alternate days of training through the weekdays with the Regular Course.
• Friday Course: Ones who are unable to participate during the weekdays can opt for Friday Course with two classes of two hours each.
• Night Course: In addition to the daytime courses, customers can also opt for evening classes from 8 pm to 11 pm.

Galadari Motor Driving Center

Galadari currently has 50 branches and was founded in 2004 by businessmen and entrepreneurs Ilyas and Mustafa Galadari. With over 500 qualified instructors, Galadari Motor Driving School conducts theory as well as practical training services as well as organise final assessments by RTA and issuance of driving licenses.

Course Price:

• Beginner (20 hours): Fresh applicants can enrol for a regular course at AED 2,000. Night courses and Friday courses can be availed at AED 2,800 and AED 3,000 respectively.
• Intermediate (15 hours): Applicants holding a national licence for two to five years can avail the regular course for AED 1,500. One can also opt for Night Course for AED 2,100 and Friday course for AED 2,250.
• Experienced (10 hours): Applicants with national driving licence for five or more years of can apply for the regular course at AED 1,000. Cost for the Night course goes up to AED 1,400 and Friday course goes up to AED 1,500.

Emirates Driving School

The Emirates Driving School is the largest network in the UAE with 53 branches and mall counters spread across the country. It is a part of the Belhasa Group. It has a fleet of over 1000 vehicles including light motor vehicle, heavy bus, light bus, heavy truck, shovel, forklift and motorcycles.

Courses Fees for Emirates Driving Institute

• Beginner (20 hours): Fresh applicants can enrol for a regular course at AED 5,965. Night courses and Friday courses can be availed at AED 6,125 and AED 6,925 respectively.
• Intermediate (15 hours): Applicants with a national licence of two to five years can enrol for the regular course for AED 5,345. One can also opt for Night Course for AED 5,465 and Friday course for AED 6,065.
• Experienced (10 hours): Applicants with national driving licence for five or more years can register for the regular course at AED 4,825. Cost for the Night course goes up to AED 4,905 and Friday course goes up to AED 5,305.

Emirates Driving Institute also provides advanced learning courses including desert driving and defensive desert driving.

Dubai Driving Center

The Dubai Driving Center was founded in 2003 and currently operates 20 branches in Dubai. Courses available at the DDC include lightweight vehicles, motorcycles, heavy truck, heavy bus, light bus as well as light and heavy forklift.

• Beginner (20 hours): Fresh applicants can enrol for a regular course at AED 5,965. Night courses and Friday courses can be availed at AED 6,125 and AED 6,925 respectively.

Al Ahli Driving Center started its operations in 2006. Their driver education courses include Car, Heavy Bus, Light Bus, Heavy Truck & Articulated, Forklift and Motor Cycles.

Courses Fees for Al Ahli Driving Center

• Beginner (20 hours): Fresh applicants can enrol for a regular course at AED 2,310. Night courses and Friday courses can be availed at AED 3,150.
• Intermediate (15 hours): Applicants with a national licence of two to five years can opt for the regular course for AED 1,732. Night Course and Friday costs AED 2,362.
• Experienced (10 hours): Applicants with national driving licence for five or more years can register for the Regular course at AED 1,155. Meanwhile, costs for the Night course goes up to AED 1,575.
