The Chevrolet Silverado Trail Boss is an off-road-ready pickup truck that you can buy currently in the segment. The particular version that I reviewed was the Chevrolet Silverado Trail Boss Midnight Edition with the Z71 off-road package.

The latest Chevy Silverado has many exterior changes that make it one of the meanest looking pickup trucks. The midnight edition adds black body colour, red towing hooks, blacked-out exhaust tips & logos, LED headlights, and taillights to the Silverado. While the Trail Boss Z71 package adds Rancho monotube shocks giving you an additional ground clearance of 2-inches. It also adds underbody skid plates to protect the transmission while off-roading.
The Silverado Trail Boss comes with an awesome 6.2-litre, V8 engine that produces 420 bhp and 624 Nm of torque. It is mated to a 10-speed automatic gearbox. It has a four-wheel drive (4WD) with different driving modes: Normal, Sport and Off-Road. The Trail Boss Z71 package also offers off-road suspensions, an automatic loading rear differential and an AutoTrac 2-speed transfer case.
On the inside, this Chevrolet pickup does need a bit of an upgrade. You still, however, do get wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a 7-speaker Bose sound system and an 8-inch Chevrolet infotainment 3 system. The Silverado has a sole purpose and that is to do lots of intense off-roading. In my opinion, it is one of the best-looking pickup trucks currently available. It is spacious and a capable truck.
The Silverado competes with the Ford F-150, GMC Sierra AT4 and RAM 1500.
