Emirates Auction has achieved a new world record by selling the most expensive number plate in the world for a whopping AED 55 million, equivalent to $15 million at the “Most Noble Numbers” charity auction on April 8, 2023. The auction was held at the Four Seasons Resort in Jumeirah. The “P7” license plate that was up for sale is now the most valuable number plate sold ever.

The “P7” plate number sold at the charity auction for 55 million dirhams, smashes the previous record of AED 52.5 million ($ 14 million) set by the sale of the Abu Dhabi plate “51” by Emirates Auction in 2008.

The latest auction has raised around AED 97.6 million ($26.6 million) in support of the “1 Billion Meals Endowment” campaign. The campaign was launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to establish the world’s biggest sustainable food aid endowment fund during Ramadan.

Since 2004, Emirates Auction has been conducting luxury registration plate auctions in the UAE, attracting global buyers and has sold all of the world’s top 10 most expensive number plates to date. They also collaborate with charities and organizations to raise funds for education, health, and humanitarian aid, demonstrating the UAE’s potential to support social causes.
