Now you’ll have to shell out a few extra bucks for per litre of fuel. The Ministry of Energy has taken its final decision to increase the fuel prices in the UAE w.e.f. 1 Feb 2018.

The fuel prices are dependent on the global oil market, and recently the cost per barrel of fuel has shot up to USD 71. Last it was in 2014 when each barrel cost this much. This along with the recent implementation of VAT has caused the fuel prices to increase.

As per the new fuel prices, the Super 98 will cost AED 2.36 for a litre, with a hike of 5% when compared to AED 2.24 in Jan. The Special 95, which previously cost AED 2.12, now is priced at AED 2.25 per litre, a 6% hike. Diesel has also seen a jump of 6.8% from AED 2.33 to AED 2.49 per litre. What are your opinions about this?
