The Women’s World Car of the Year 2023 has awarded Nissan X-Trail the title of Best Large SUV 2023 for its 13th edition. The Accolade is awarded by an international jury of 63 female motoring journalists from 45 countries and five continents, WWCOTY is the only international award made up exclusively of women automotive journalists. The X-Trail was praised for its spaciousness, effortless driving performance and e-POWER electrified powertrain.

About the 2023 Nissan X-Trail

The all-new Nissan X-Trail is built on the Alliance CMF-C platform, the SUV has a muscular design and advanced technologies that offer an effortless EV drive feeling thanks to e-POWER technology together with a twin-motor e-4ORCE all-wheel drive system. The X-Trail is available as a five- or seven-seater variant. Being so spacious, the car is a comfortable option for holiday outings with extended family or friends. As an electrified seven-seater SUV The X-trail is unique in its segment.

Nissan’s e-POWER is an innovative drive system that offers an EV drive without feeling the need to recharge. The new X-Trail gets a high-output battery and the electric motor integrated with a variable compression ratio petrol engine, power generator, inverter and 150kW front electric motor. This unique powertrain delivers the power to the wheels only from an electric motor, which results in an instant response as soon as you press the accelerator.

The X-Trail is one of the most successful global vehicles from the Japanese manufacturer, with sales across 100 international markets. The SUV has been enabling family adventures for over 20 years. The fourth generation X-Trail draws from a well-established DNA that runs through all three of the previous generations of X-Trail electric vehicle.

As a result of it being awarded Best Large SUV, the X-Trail has been shortlisted for the highest award of the WWCOTY, Best Car of the Year 2023, to be announced on 8 March 2023.

About the Women’s World Car of the Year (WWCOTY)

As the name suggests, the Women’s World Car of the Year jury comprises exclusively a group of female motoring journalists. This year, 63 women from 45 countries on five continents are a part of the team, with Renuka Kirpalani, Executive Editor of The Autocar Show, being one of the eminent jurors. However, beyond choosing the best cars of the year, the WWCOTY’s goal is also to give voice to women in the automotive world and to contribute to making women’s views heard on all continents because mobility for a woman means access to many personal and professional possibilities.
