Nissan and Nismo have prepared a hot plate of performance. The new Project Clubsport 23 is proof that the Japanese automaker has not forgotten its long-staanding history of coupes as it nears its 10th anniversary.

The concept will soon be seen at the SEMA tuning show in Las Vegas this month. From what Nissan says, we know that the Clubsport 23 sports a host of tuning parts most of which could be expected for the 370Z owners through its dealership network.

The collaborative work is a joint effort between Nissan and aftermarket part suppliers such as Sparco, Rays and Hankook. A 370Z if subjected to the Clubsport treatment will gain over with a tweaked suspension, braking and styling. The fun part? All the sort of upgrades can be fit by the owners themselves.

However, Nissan has induced a big change in the mechanics of the car by ditching the standard 3.7-litre V6 engine for a 3.0-litre twin-turbocharged V6. The engine which is borrowed from the Infiniti Q50 and Q60 produces close to 400bhp which is a 50bhp rise from the previous one.

The car comes with a custom cold intake kit wit blow off valves and a custom exhaust system. The custom exhaust system features a couple of 76mm pipes at the rear. Additionally, Nissan has also tweaked the cooling system with a performance radiator, power steering cooler, intercooler and silicone hoses to replace the standard items.

The car inherits its rear wheel drive from the standard 370Z through a 6-speed manual gearbox. Until now the engine was mated to an automatic transmission. As a result, a unique clutch system, flywheel and casing had to be created.

Unlike the standard Nismo body, the Clubsport comes with a carbon bonnet that is held in place by pins while the splitter is constructed from the same material.

In the inside, Nissan has included a Sparco QRT-R race seats along with six-point harnesses and steering wheel. The dash, door cards and centre armrest are trimmed in quilted upholstery with red stitching.
