Hot hatchback lovers, rejoice! The Volkswagen Golf GTi is here and it will land in a showroom near you this month.
This is the eight-generation Golf GTi and it is powered by a frugal 2.0 TSI turbocharged engine thumping out 245 horsepower. As for the exterior, the new Golf GTi has chequered-flag style LEDs in the lower bumper, an illuminated grille and lots of 'GTi' badges.
A standard differential lock is also on offer and the GTi has an impressive top speed of 155mph (250 kph). We bet you can give M3 owners a hard time with the Golf GTi. The car sits on 17-inch alloys (18 and 19 inch options are available) and has chrome tailpipes and side skirts.
Inside you will find red trim on the seats, tartan upholstery, metal pedals and the classic Golf gear knob if you go for the car with the six-speed manual gearbox. Another feature of the interior is the digital dashboard.
Victor Dalmau, Managing Director of Volkswagen Middle East, said: “The GTI has been an iconic car since it was first launched back in the 70's, synonym of sporty driving pleasure with the highest level of technology and performance. This 8th generation brings it to the next level, in terms of driving dynamics, design, technology and digitalization."
“The Golf has a very loyal and strong following in the Middle East, so we are confident our customers will like it as much as we do”, he further added.
