All motorheads can agree upon the fact that Porsche’s 911 GT2 RS rightfully wears the widowmaker tag in the line-up. However, just when we thought the GT2 RS was the closest Porsche could get to the perfect track weapon, the company drops another nuke in the form of the Clubsport Package.

The new package doubles down the car’s track-focused nature without any mercy. For starters, Porsche has added an FIA-approved steel roll cage in the rear of the car behind the front seats. Apart from that, new additions to the car include a fire extinguisher with an aluminium mounting bracket and a red 6-point seatbelt harness for the driver. Additionally, the Clubsport Package also allows installing a battery master switch.

All parts that make it to the car with the package are FIA-approved and both the battery master switch and a front bracket for the roll cage can be bought separately from the Porsche Motorsport Department.

On the brighter side, Porsche is offering the Clubsport Package with no extra cost to the buyers, which could prove to be positive as they spend more than a quarter million to buy the car. The perks of the package, however, do not end there. Porsche has given the freedom to top insanity by combining the Clubsport Package with the Weissach Performance Package.

The Weissach pack’s goodies shave 30kg from the car’s weight thanks to magnesium wheels and carbon-fibre body panels. Should a buyer opt for the Clubsport and Weissach Packages, the latter’s titanium roll cage is swapped for the FIA-approved steel cage.

While the car hosts a plethora of new features to crunch the lap timings at the track, the safety assists and electronics remain the same. The 3.8-litre twin-turbocharged flat-6 engines still make 694 horsepower that will be even more track focussed with the package.
