Meet Al Qubaisi Sisters; first female pro go-kart drivers in the UAE
Go-Karting is fun, isn’t it? People usually do it at weekends with friends and families just to break the monotony of their lives. They go to track, do a few laps, enjoy and then it’s back to normal. Well, it’s not the same case with everyone. Meet Al Qubaisi Sisters; first female pro go-kart drivers in the UAE.
Amna Al Qubaisi is only 17-years-old and her sister, Hamda Al Qubaisi is just 15. They are called as Speed Sisters and are Go-Kart racers. It’s an unusual sight spotting girls at a racetrack but these two are breaking all the barriers.
Their father is Khaled Al Qubaisi, who is a racer himself. He’s been active in international GT sport since the beginning of the 2010s and won the 24-hour race of Dubai consequently in 2012 and 2013.
Khaled recognised her elder daughter’s talent at an early age and, perhaps, that’s is one of the main reasons why she got into racing professionally. Then her sister walked right into the steps which she’d left. It wouldn’t have been possible for Amna and Hamda to get the title of Speed Sisters if it weren’t for their father. He has been an inspiration for both of them.
Hamda has won 15 trophies so far while her elder sister Amna has acquired 20 and counting. These young talented kids are killing it and giving very tough competition to other racers (boys!) and doing things out-of-the-box and something very unusual in their culture. We’re proud of you, girls. And Kudos to Khaled for being such a good sport and father.
