So far a few teaser images of the upcoming McLaren 600LT were released by the company to keep the headlines occupied. Now, McLaren is testing the car at the Nurburgring.

The test vehicle was heavily disguised, but it can be clearly recognized as the 600LT by its silhouette. In the pictures, it can be seen that only the headlights of the car are properly visible. They look similar to what we’ve seen in the McLaren 570S.

Since this new offering from McLaren is going to be a more powerful and track focussed machine than the 570S, it must have been gone through a series of changes that could include weight shedding. So we wouldn’t be surprised to see a lot of carbon fiber body parts. Also, being more capable in achieving higher top speeds, the 600LT would run on a different set of wheels and rubber.

McLaren is keeping its mouth shut about the details of the 600LT. But it’s being anticipated that under the hood of this new sports car will be the same 3.8-liter twin turbo V8 engine that has been excelling in the 570S, but it would have been tuned to produce more power, somewhere around 592 bhp.

McLaren is planning to showcase its new 600LT at the upcoming Goodwood Festival Of Speed.
