Lexus Reveals Pricing And Specifications Of The New RC Coupe

Lexus has unveiled complete pricing and specifications of its new BMW 4-series rival, RC Coupe. For MY2019 Lexus has cut down the price on the Coupe by $444 at $50,737 for the entry-level model.

Similar to last year, the RC Coupe will be provided with the same three trim levels, however, with a new moniker. The naming convention is now adopted from the ES Saloon and UX Crossover. The F-sport which is seated in the middle has been retained while the entry-level model is now called as the RC and the Premier model will be sold under the nameplate of Takumi.

A set of 18-inch alloy wheels will be offered as standard across all models along with front and rear parking sensors, reversing camera, satellite navigation and an eco-friendly ‘Tahara’ synthetic leather trim.

The RC F Sport which is seated between the base RC variant and the top Takumi trim costs around $863 more than the outgoing model at $55,314. The new F Sport comes with a set of 19-inch wheels along with house brakes with orange callipers and an archetypal chrome mesh grille. Inside the cabin, the middle trim adopts its seats, pedals and steering wheels from its base variant. However, the F Sports gains leather upholstery, adaptive dampers, LED headlights and LED front indicators over the standard RC model.

The Takumi which sits on the top enjoys major electronic revamp with Mark Levinson sound system, blind spot monitoring, rear cross traffic alert and a memory setting for the electric driver’s seat. These features push the price tag of the car to $59,891.

Buyers of the base and the F-Sport variant can choose from an option pack. Opting for an additional kit can equip a base variant with leather seats, sunroof and heated steering wheel along with the Mark Levinson hi-fi, and aluminium trim inlays.

While one may not be able to spot the difference between the outgoing model and the new one. Place the two side by side and one might notice the re-profiled front bumper, a new grille, updated LED headlamps and a new lighting signature.

Engine options remain the same between the RC200t with a tweaked 2.0-litre turbocharged engine and the 300h with the 2.5-litre hybrid electric powertrain.
