Lamborghini Drops Another Sick Iteration Of The Aventador

On late Friday, the Squadra Corsa unveiled its first road-going project: the Lamborghini SC18, helping to mark the conclusion of the 2018 season of the Lamborghini Super Trofeo one-make series.

The SC18 draws major inspiration from the SVJ Aventador, sporting the same 6.5litre V12 engine. This calls for a peak output of 759bhp and 719Nm of torque. However, Squadra Corsa has further refined the engine with its experienced knowledge of racing, making the car a track-oriented machine which can be legally driven on the street.

The car piles up on unique aero-elements which starts from the front bonnet, with the air intake that is inspired from the design cues of the Huracan GT3 Evo race car. On the sides, there are new scoops inspired by the Huracan Super Trofeo Evo racer. The aero-elements are completed by a large carbon fibre wing with three forms of mechanical adjustments for varying levels of downforce.

Like a proper race car, the engineering team has chucked a few amenities from inside the cabin, leading to a significant amount of weight reduction. Lamborghini stated that the new iteration calls for even less ground clearance, measuring at just 109 millimetres. Summing up its looks is the single-nut wheel measuring 20-inches up front and 21-inches at the rear, both wrapped with specially developed Pirelli P Zero Corsa tires.

Interestingly, the SC18 was built at the request of a customer. We are unaware of Lamborghini’s further plans with the SC18. However, the company stated that the car paves the way for further personalized development projects for motorsport customers.
