Jaguar Unveils Its New F-Pace SVR

The 2018 New York Auto Show has commenced today, and Jaguar Land Rover has uncovered its new F-Pace SVR. It is supposed to be faster, lighter and more feature-rich than the standard variant of the F-Pace.

It was the Special Vehicle Operations (SVO) team of Jaguar which designed the new F-Pace SVR. It features new and enhanced chassis and aerodynamics, which has helped it to achieve a gain of 40% in power when compared to the standard F-Pace.

Under the hood of the new SVR is a 5.0-litre V8 supercharged petrol engine which has been tuned to produce a max power of 542 bhp and a peak torque of 680 Nm. All this power shoots the F-Pace SVR from 0-100 kph in just 4.3 seconds, and flat out it will do 283 kph, which is electronically limited.

In order to increase the aerodynamic capabilities of the new F-Pace SVR, Jaguar has made certain changes to the exterior of the car like larger air intakes up front, side vents on the fender, etc. All this helps to channel the air in a such a way so that there is as less drag as possible, and, of course, it looks pretty cool too. Then we’ve got the quad exhaust pipes popping out from under the rear bumper. They enhance the sporty character of the vehicle. To further enhance this look, Jaguar has provided new lighter forged alloy wheels which are available in 21-inch and 22-inch size.

If we talk about the interiors of the new F-Pace SVR, there are some new features to be seen, like performance seats with SVR logo, new steering wheel, new paddle-shifters. There is also Jaguar’s Touch Pro infotainment system which includes a 10-inch touchscreen and a 12.3-inch instrument cluster. The interiors also come with options for colour combination which include Red with Jet, Light Oyster with Jet, Siena Tan with Jet and Jet with Light Oyster stitching.

Other features that we can find on the new F-Pace SVR include Variable Valve Active Exhaust System, Intelligent Driveline Dynamics (IDD), optimised Adaptive Dynamics suspension, Electronic Power Assisted Steering (EPAS) and Dynamic Driving Mode. The new F-Pace SVR is the first car in the Jag family to feature company’s rear Electronic Active Differential (EAD).
