Cadillac Middle East Expands Its SUV Lineup With The All-New XT4

Cadillac revealed the all-new 2019 XT4 worldwide with a Middle East launch slated for later this year. Along with the range-topping Escalade and premium midsize crossover XT5, the 2019 Cadillac XT4 completes the American automaker’s SUV lineup in the Middle East.

The 2019 Cadillac is the first of the company’s aggressive product strategy that involves doubling the lineup in the next four years. The company is committed to putting up a new model for sale every six months, bringing the total to five cars within two years.

Cadillac developed a new architecture for the 2019 XT4 which is the first compact SUV offering by the company. The new product is squarely aimed at young buyers who want functionality, aesthetics, as well as comfort from a single car. the XT4 toes the line with the demands of its target customers by offering a judicious mix of classy design, modern, feature-rich interiors, and more than decent performance packed in a versatile SUV shell.

The front of the 2019 XT4 is dominated by the massive Caddy grille (inspired by Cadillac’s V-Series of performance models) flanked by vertical DRLs of the headlamps. The DRLs are nicely integrated with the air dams and continue onwards to the hood. The profile is minimalist but classy and cannot be mistaken for anything other than a Cadillac. The family resemblance is clear here as the XT4 does give an impression of the Escalade when viewed from some angles. At the rear, the rear glass window is flanked by two big, bold LED taillamps which accentuate the aggressive stance of the XT4.

As minimalist as the compact SUV is from the outside, it is equally loaded on the inside. “Cadillac’s first-ever compact SUV is designed to stand out to the young, upwardly mobile consumer. Naturally, it’s also filled with the kind of leading-edge connectivity features that tech-savvy buyers demand,” said Christian Soemmer, Managing Director, Cadillac Middle East. And he is not wrong, as the XT4 benefits from Cadillac’s impressive user interface that offers an almost smartphone-like user experience. Connectivity is handled by Apple CarPlay as well as Android Auto, voice command is improved for 2019, and the interface is intuitive and highly responsive. The infotainment screen handles all the car’s entertainment and connectivity necessities.

Of course, what’s all the design and interiors if the car is short on power? Cadillac’s answer to the spec queries is a new 2.0-liter blown four-pot that produces 237 hp, paired to a nine-speed transmission. The shifts are said to be seamless with the help of the next-generation Electronic Precision Shift. The 2019 Cadillac XT4 also features cylinder deactivation technology to offer a more efficient driving characteristic.

Eight colors will be on offer at the launch of the new XT4: Atlantic Metallic, Autumn Metallic, Crystal White Tricoat, Twilight Blue Metallic, Shadow Metallic, Red Horizon Tintcoat, Stellar Black Metallic and Radiant Silver Metallic.
