BMW M has launched its updated high-performance luxury Sports Activity Vehicle and Sports Activity Coupé, the X5 M Competition and the X6 M competition. Both the Cars get multiple updates including a new V8 engine with a 48-volt mild-hybrid tech for the first time in any BMW M model, and a new Curved Display. M-specific graphics, Fresh exterior styling details and airy, modern interior design. Its Production will begin in Spartanburg, South Carolina, in April 2023.
The Hybrid Engine on the new BMW X5 M Competition and the new BMW X6 M Competition
The 2024 BMW X5 M competition and X6 M competition come with a new S68 4.4-litre Twin-Turbo V8 engine with a 48-volt mild hybrid system and generates a combined output of 617 horsepower and 750Nm of torque (553 lb-ft), the engine is paired with the updated eight-speed M Steptronic gearbox with new gear ratios and a better and sharper shift.It can accelerate from 0 to 100kmph in just 3.9 seconds. The top speed of both SUVs is electronically limited to 250 km/h, or 285 km/h with the optional M Driver’s Package. Both the competition models come with a newly adapted version of the M xDrive all-wheel drive system, which teams up with the Active M Differential at the rear axle. Also gets 4WD Sport mode
The Interior Updates on the 2024 BMW X5 M Competition and X6 M Competition
The new X5 M and X6 M Competition come standard with the BMW Digital Cockpit Professional, which adds an M-specific version of the latest generation BMW iDrive interface on both cars. The SUVs feature a BMW Curved Display formed by a 12.3-inch infotainment display and a control display with a 14.9-inch diagonal screen, powered by BMW Operating System 8 along with the BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant. New ambient light bar with effective backlighting and M logo.The interior ambience displays a sporting luxury cabin with a new ambient light bar with effective backlighting and the M logo. The M multifunction seats feature fine-grain Merino full leather trim as standard. Optional BMW Individual fine-grain Merino full leather trim is also available in Ivory White/Atlas Grey. The standard M leather steering wheel comes with gearshift paddles in carbon-fibre. The dashboard gets a Fineline Black wood trim with Metal Effect as standard, and Carbon-fibre trim and Ash Flowing Grey Open-Pored Trim comes as optional.
The Exterior Updates on the new BMW X5 M and X6 M Competition
On the outside, the BMW X5 M Competition and BMW X6 M Competition get new design language, The new BMW twin-kidney grille is now blacked-out, features horizontal kidney bars, and larger model badging with lower air intake gives a dynamic look.The X5 and X6 M Competition models feature sleeker headlights with arrow-shaped elements that point outwards and also serve as daytime running lights and turn signal indicators. The L-shaped taillights shared from other BMW models are placed horizontally, creating an X motif. The exterior mirror caps and the model badges at the rear are also finished in high-gloss black.
A diffuser insert extends to the lower edge of the rear apron providing a sophisticated border for the pair of twin sport exhaust systems. The four tailpipe trims are in Black Chrome and each measures 4 inches in diameter.
A model-specific spoiler lip for the X6 M Competition which is also available in black forms the lower edge of the front apron on the SUV and helps in better aerodynamics.
The X5 and X6 M Competition models get 21-inch alloy wheels at the front and 22-inch at the rear. The fixed single-piston brake caliper with perforated 15.6 inches discs at the front and floating caliper units with 15.0-inch discs at the rear.
Exterior Colour options on the BMW X5 M Competition and X6 M Competition
The new BMW X5 M Competition and new BMW X6 M Competition now include Brooklyn Grey Metallic, Isle of Man Green Metallic, and Frozen Pure Grey Metallic along with 50 BMW Individual Manufaktur paint shades for both modelsThese include metallic and non-metallic finishes, as well as Frozen finishes. These exclusive paint options are applied in a meticulous process and the spectrum of colours is being expanded all the time.

The new BMW X5 M Competition and new BMW X6 M Competition will make their public debut at the Amelia Island Concours d’Elegance in March, and production will begin at BMW Group Plant Spartanburg, South Carolina, in April 2023.
