Audi Unveils Fantastic R8 LMS GT2 Colour Edition

The racing version of the Audi R8 is known at the LMS GT2. It sits on top of the Audi racing cars family tree. Now the German brand has released a ‘Colour Edition’ of its racing car and unsurprisingly, it looks brilliant.

The Colour Edition celebrates the R8 LMS GT2’s victory at Monza’s Royal Park on April 17th and 18th in the European GT2 season debut races. All these R8s are made according to the current GT2 standards.

Thanks to the Colour Edition, the R8 LMS GT can be bought in six superb colours – Vegas Yellow, Tactical Green, Sebring Black, Nogaro Blue, Misano Red, and Kyalami Green. All the cars will have copper wheels, black wings and canards, mirrors, and roof scoop finished in black.

The cars are powered by the well-known naturally aspirated 5.2-liter V10 engine that packs 630 horsepower and over 550 Newton-meters of torque. Fancy one of these colourful racers? Then you will have to pay Audi €338,000 (before taxes).

“For the first time in the 13-year history of Audi Sport customer racing we are offering such a colour concept to our customers,” says Chris Reinke, Head of Audi Sport customer racing. “With one model per colour, our Colour Edition guarantees pure individuality and will not be issued a second time like this.”
