The New Defender 130 Outbound, a 493 horsepower Defender 130 V8 and a new heritage-inspired County Exterior Pack for the Defender 110 are the latest additions to Land Rover Defender line-up. With these additional improvements, Land Rover has enlarged the Defender brand, providing more options and superior comfort while preserving the brand's renowned off-road capability.

2024 Land Rover Defender 130 Outbound

The New Defender 130 Outbound boasts a striking, rugged and muscular stance along with a lavish cabin and the ability to conquer any terrain that comes its way under its chunky wheels. It can accommodate up to five people and is a perfect choice for those who love adventure and exploration.

Exterior Updates on the Defender 130 Outbound

On the outside, the bumpers and grille insert of the Defender 130 Outbound has a Shadow Atlas Matt paint finish, and the side vents are finished in Anthracite. The Outbound gets two wheel sizes with different colours, a set of 20-inch wheels finished in Gloss Black and another Shadow Atlas Matt 22-inch wheels, which gives it a maximum wading capacity of 35.4 inches.

Colour options for the Outbound edition include Fuji White, Santorini Black, Carpathian Grey and Eiger Grey. Body-coloured rear signature panels and D-pillar finishers round off the external upgrades. The Satin Protective Film is an option for customers that require superior scratch resistance for exploring off-road terrains.

Defender 130 Outbound is available in two engine options - P400 petrol and D300 diesel Ingenium power, both come with a Mild Hybrid Electric Vehicle (MHEV) technology for optimized performance and efficiency.

Interior Updates on the Defender 130 Outbound

Inside the cabin, the interior is finished in Ebony, with an Ebony Morzine headliner, Robustec veneer and Defender’s signature cross-car beam in Satin Black Powder Coat Brushed finish, and customers get to choose from luxurious full Windsor leather and fabric material options according to their preferences.

Defender Outbound edition offers extra storage, lashing points, and a cargo net. Its 4x4 capability comes from Intelligent All-Wheel Drive System, Terrain Response, Electronic Air Suspension, and Adaptive Dynamics. Rubber matting can be folded down to protect the bumper when loading bulky items. The Outbound edition can tow up to 3,000kg of weight while connecting a trailer or a caravan is made easier with air suspension and switches inside the tailgate.

Defender Outbound has five seats and its 1.267-meter-long loadspace floor, located behind the second row, easily fits adventure equipment. Ideal for practical and versatile explorers.

Defender 130 V8

The Defender 130 lineup now offers three engine options for the eight-seater model thanks to the addition of a 5.0-litre supercharged V8 engine, joining the six-cylinder Ingenium P400 and D300.

The 5.0-litre supercharged V8 engine

The Defender 130 line-up additionally features a 5.0-litre supercharged V8 engine that produces 493 horsepower and 610Nm of torque. The Supercharged V8 accelerates Defender 130 from 0 to 100kmph in 5.7 seconds (0 to 60mph in 5.4 seconds). This means that the SUV now gets a choice of three engines for the eight-seater variant, with the six-cylinder Ingenium P400 and D300 already available.

Defender 130 V8 exterior and interior updates

The Defender 130 V8 has a sleek and stealthy look as it is available only in Carpathian Grey or Santorini Black paint schemes. The exterior of the SUV gets Matrix LED headlights with signature daytime running lights along with darkened tail lights and quad outboard-mounted exhausts at the rear. The V8 model exclusively features V8 badging along with privacy glass, and a sliding panoramic roof with black contrast roof. The muscular wheel arches are complemented by 22-inch Satin Dark Grey alloy wheels.

On the inside, the infotainment system features an 11.4-inch glass touchscreen with Software Over The Air capability, along with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as standard and a Meridian Sound System. Defender V8 also has What3words tech for location finding, wireless charging, and Alexa Voice AI for vehicle control.

Defender 130 V8 offers luxury with its 14-way heated and cooled electric driver memory seats in Ebony Windsor Leather with Dinamica suede cloth and Robustec fabric complemented by suede cloth heated steering wheel, and climate control. While the additional features include Ebony Morzine headlining and Satin Black cross-car beam, Interactive Driver Display, Head-Up Display, and Cabin Air Purification Plus.

Defender 110 County Exterior Pack

The Defender 110 also received an update in the form of a new County Exterior Pack that offers unique exterior elements inspired by the original Defender County, celebrating the 4x4's legendary heritage with a modern interpretation. The County Pack is also available on Defender 90 only in the Chinese market.

The County Exterior Pack for Defender is available in S, SE, and HSE variants, and includes County graphics along the doors and body sides. One style comes in Gloss White to match the pack's signature aesthetics. The County edition gets two different styles of 20-inch alloy wheels.

There are three exterior colour combinations available for the SUV that includes Fuji White body with Tasman Blue Contrast Roof and Tailgate, the Santorini Black body with Tasman Blue Contrast Roof and Tailgate, and the Tasman Blue body with White Contrast Roof and Tailgate. Each combination comes with a corresponding gradient graphic decal and treadplate.

A variety of colour and material choices are available for the interior of the SUV, including Resist seats, Grained Leather, and Windsor Leather finished in Ebony. Additionally, the Defender County edition can be ordered in Santorini Black and Fuji White with an Acorn interior. The interior also has a Robustec veneer and a cross-car beam that matches the County Exterior Pack's design and is available in Light Grey or White colours.

The Defender 110 with County Exterior Pack, Defender 130 Outbound, and Defender 130 V8 are available to order at Land Rover dealerships.

Additional enhancements on the Defender 90 and 130

The standard Loadspace Floor Tray for interior storage and the nearly flat loadspace floor is featured on the Defender 90 and 130 eight-seat variants. Access to the second row is improved by the Defender 90's redesigned parachute grab handle with rapid fold and slide row one passenger seat. The rear seats in second row that fold down 40:20:40 and have centre armrests are also brand-new. The Loadspace Floor Tray is also available to existing owners.
