Honda Accord is one of the famous cars that we see on our roads. It has been received extremely well by the market since its inception. Now, Honda has brought the new Accord in the Middle East. It is in its 10th generation and is available across all Al Futtaim Honda showrooms in the UAE.

The new Accord is based on the company’s new global platform; the one which is the foundation of the new latest models of Honda Civic and Honda CR-V. Utilising this platform has allowed Honda to increase the cabin space in the new Accord. The occupants of the car will now have an extra 48 mm of legroom when compared to the outgoing model. Also, the wheelbase of the new model is 55 mm longer too. This also makes the boot capacity to increase by 70 litres.

The biggest change that Honda has incorporated in the 10th generation Accord, is the new engines. There are two variants available with the new model. The first one is a 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder engine that couples to CVT, and produces around 198 bhp and 260 Nm of peak torque at 1,600 rpm. This engine replaces the older 2.0-litre unit that used to produce 188 bhp of power and 247 Nm of torque. The other engine option is a 2.0-litre turbocharged unit that has been lifted straight from the Civic Type R. It produces a healthy 247 bhp of power and 370 Nm of torque. It comes mated to a new 10-speed automatic transmission that is a good 9 kg lighter than the 6-speed automatic unit of the outgoing model. This engine is only available with the top-end model.

Other features of the new Accord include dual exhaust surrounds, 6.0-inch heads-up display, 10 speaker audio system, rain-sensing windscreen wipers, lane keeping, adaptive cruise control, and collision warnings.

The new Honda Accord is available in four different variants. The price of the base model starts at AED 94,900, whereas the top-end model will set you back by AED 139,900. For colours, there are a total of 10 shades to pick from, including the 2 new ones that Honda has included – Platinum White Pearl and Radiant Red Metallic.
